Clarisa Y Garcia, M.D., is the medical director at Pediatric Cardiology Associates of Houston and is a board-certified pediatric cardiologist at Children’s Health℠. She focuses on general cardiology, preventative cardiology and cardiac health in athletes.
Dr. Garcia works with her patients to help them understand how to keep their hearts healthy. She also often uses her skills to give back to her community, by providing sports physicals and cardiac screenings for local organizations and foundations.
Dr. Garcia is dedicated to improving and advancing pediatric cardiology. She has served as a Department Chair of Pediatrics and on the Women’s Hospital Pediatric Symposium Committee. She also enjoys teaching and training health professionals who screen for and manage pediatric heart problems.
Dr. Garcia earned her medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch of Galveston. She completed her residency in pediatrics at the University of Utah and her fellowship in pediatric cardiology at UT Southwestern. During her education, she was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society and the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society.
Dr. Garcia is a native Texan and is fluent in English and Spanish. She and her husband enjoy raising their four children and coaching their sports teams.
